The Los Angeles Lakers will exercise their team option on center Andrew Bynum, according to the Los Angeles Times. The move will give Bynum $16.1 million next season.
“He’s the starting center on the West All-Star team. Why wouldn’t we do everything we could to keep him here?” Lakers General Manager Mitch Kupchak said. “We’re ecstatic to have him on the team.”
In 41 games this season the 24-year-old has averaged career highs in points (18.1), and rebounds (12.9). He is also averaging 2.0 blocks and just 1.7 fouls per contest.
Last season for the Lakers Bynum aveaged 11.3 points and 9.4 rebounds in 47 games with the Lakers.

Kobe’s 1st pro game at Cal State Long Beach Summer League. I was there but had no idea what I was witnessing.
The day after the NBA draft Kobe also showed up at Cal State Long Beach with Jerry West and sat about 4 seats from me. All I remember telling my buddies was “That’s that new high school kid we drafted.” Man I wish I had an iphone back then. lol.

Blake Griffin v Kendrick Perkins. Everyone liked this dunk last night but I dont even think it was a dunk. It appeared to be more of a throw in, kinda like Dwight and his Superman “dunk”. Great play, but far from one of the greatest dunks of all time. So in honor of Kendrick Perkins getting posterized, I will be posting some of the greatest dunks of all time today. Stay tuned.
